🥒 Tattoo Aftercare
Taking care of your new tattoo helps it heal properly and keeps the artwork looking its best.
Keep it clean: Gently wash your tattoo with clean hands and mild, fragrance-free soap.
Pat dry: Use a clean paper towel or let it air-dry. Don’t rub it.
Moisturize: Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free tattoo aftercare lotion as recommended by your artist.
Don’t pick or scratch: Peeling and itching are normal during healing. Let flakes and scabs fall off naturally.
Avoid soaking: Stay out of pools, hot tubs, baths, lakes, and other bodies of water while your tattoo is healing.
Protect it from the sun: Keep your healing tattoo out of direct sunlight. Once healed, use sunscreen to help protect the ink.
Wear clean, loose clothing: Avoid unnecessary rubbing or friction over the tattoo.
Follow your artist’s instructions: Aftercare can vary depending on the tattoo, placement, and type of bandage used.
When in doubt, contact your tattoo artist. If you develop concerning symptoms such as spreading redness, worsening pain, significant swelling, pus, or fever, seek medical advice.
